The Faithful Ones

for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones. Proverbs 2:8 NIV

Are we just and are we faithful? Can we answer this question honestly, humbling ourselves for an answer we may not like? Can we say we are more just or more faithful than others? Should we even ask that question and would the answer matter to God?

I admit that I struggle with this, not because I'm a poor Christian but because I'm human. What makes me think I'm even remotely worthy of protection and love from the Almighty? Because I'm his child. I'm not going to be perfect every day. I'm going to fail sometimes. But he is faithful to us because he loves us. He calls us his faithful ones. We are not judged against one another but by the condition of our hearts.
