I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord , the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over you— the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. Psalm 121:1-8 NIV
Where does your help come from? I'm sure you have, like I do, help from people around you. Help for all kinds of things, because it really does take a village. Social capital is a key factor in determining your social skills and knowledge as you age. It's important to know and be secure in the fact you are not without help.
But I'm sure you know like I do that people can fail you. They may do it on purpose, or they may not. It's bound to happen at some point. So what happens Then? Who will you rely on? This verse aptly tells you where your true source of help comes from. Look to the hills, to the mountains. Look up to the solid foundation on which you have built your faith. There you will find unfailing help. For anything. Anytime. Any reason.
