Be About God's Business

Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord , and who meditates on his law day and night. Psalm 1:1‭-‬2 NIV

So as I was pondering this verse today I had to really think about what this means. Does it mean we are not to associate at all with sinners and mockers? If so, we Christians may never be able to leave our homes again. But taken in context, I believe this means do not waste time with them or partake in their conversations.  Gossip and idle chatter are sure fire ways to waste time and serve no purpose.

And on another point, if we are busy meditating on God's word and doing his will we have no time for idle hands. We have work to do. We have God's words to study. We have prayers to say.  We have no time for gossip.

Be about God's business.
