Work Hard for the Money

“Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. John 5:24 NIV

I work hard at my job. I work hard at my hobbies. I work hard raising my children and maintaining relationships. I bet you do too. Life is hard work. There's not many who can sail through life never working for what they want. Yes there are exceptions, but for the most part people work hard at daily living.  And even though we know an honest day's work is good for the soul, it's all that more refreshing and surprising when we get a reward with very little effort.

Which is why I love this verse. God only requires us to believe in his son and we will be saved. We must simply have faith. We don't have to work our way into heaven. God is not concerned about what we can do but what we are willing to allow him to do through us.

Having faith doesn't require sweat equity. Let God do the work through you.
