When I said, “My foot is slipping,” your unfailing love, Lord , supported me. When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy. Psalm 94:18-19 NIV
I sent this verse to my daughter this morning. She had a test today and it was really stressing her out. I knew this verse was perfect. She had studied. She had done what she could. I knew she needed God to take away the stress and free her mind so she could do well.
We all get anxious, stressed, worried. These are natural human emotions. And God understands we will feel them. He did not make us void of emotion. What he wants is for us to know we don't have to bear the burden ourselves. He is there to help. We do not need to entertain negative thoughts. God's light can drive them out and sustain us when we need it most.
So the next time worry or stress tries to take hold, ask God to lift the burden.
