2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. Isaiah 43:2 NIV
You know what happened when I read this verse? I immediately thought "oh no, trouble is on the horizon." Why did I think that way? Because when you take a verse like tbis and apply it to your life, it can only mean trouble is coming and God is letting you know he will take care of you.
But guess what? God doesn't give you the spirit of fear. Satan does. God isn't telling you to hold onto your knickers because something bad is coming. Life happens. This is God's promise that when it does, he will be there. He will protect you. He will help you. You don't need to be afraid or automatically think something is going to go wrong. That's fear. That's satan. Don't let him do that to you.
Take hold of God's promise, tuck it away in your heart and when you need it, he will remind you.
